Vancouver (Lower Mainland) to Strongwater Cabins and Campground
Just over three hours from downtown Vancouver. Travel to Horseshoe Bay ferry terminal in West Vancouver and ride the 40 minute ferry across to Langdale on the Sunshine Coast. The beautiful drive north up Highway 101 takes about 1 1/2 hours through winding mountain roads and the West Coast Rain forest. Turn right onto Egmont Road and follow it through the moss-covered trees. Just past the Heritage Centre on your left and the Skookumchuk Narrows trail head on your right you’ll see the big pink sign for Strongwater on your left.
Victoria (Vancouver Island) to Strongwater Cabins and Campground
Travel to Comox on Vancouver Island to cross by ferry to Powell River (Westview) on the northern section of the Sunshine Coast. Drive from there south to Saltery Bay ferry terminal to cross the Strait of Georgia on the Malaspina Sky to Earl’s Cove. Follow Hwy 101 about 750 m and turn left onto Egmont Road. Just past the Heritage Centre on your left and the Skookumchuk Narrows trail head on your right you’ll see the big pink sign for Strongwater on your left.
The whole trip is so beautiful with mountains and forest and the Strait where whales, seals, sea lions, and porpoises often pop up along the ferry route.
Once you arrive at Strongwater…
Follow the road into Strongwater, staying left at the fork to reach Campsites 1-6 and the A-Frame cabin on your left and Treehouses One and Two at the end of the path just beyond the Purple Playhouse on your right.
When you turn right at the fork, the Washhouse and then Cabin Six (Sauna in winter) are on your left. Follow the ramp to the left of Cabin Six up to Loft Two on the top and back of the Washhouse.
When you take the first right after turning right at the fork, you’ll find Cabins Three and Four. Take the second right and Campsites 7-11 are on your left. Cabin Five is the cabin on your right.
Find your cabin or campsite and get settled. Your hosts will come to you to check you in.
The hosts’ home and hobby farm is beyond the metal gate. Please respect our privacy. Only visit the animals between noon and 2 pm unless invited by the hosts. If you must come to our home/office, use the gate at the bottom of the stairs to reach our front door.
